Cell Phone Policy
(District policy applies) —Cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off between arrival to school and 1:05 p.m. A $15 fine will be assessed if phone is confiscated.
Misconduct will not be tolerated. Students who are sent to the office on repeated occasions for misbehavior will be dropped from summer school by the principal with loss of credit and tuition.
(District policy applies) — Dress Code violations include but not limited to: torn jeans, short shorts, tank tops, shirts with inappropriate language and logos, low cut tops, and earrings on males or additional piercings.

Credit Recovery: PLATO / Edgenuity
PLATO/Edgenuity courses are designed for credit recovery. The courses are self-paced courses in various subjects. Students work on online learning modules that will award students course credit once students achieve level of mastery of learning objectives for course. Location: Economedes HS June 4-July 12
The EL Academy provides limited English proficient students the opportunity to receive additional instruction in areas of ELA/Reading and Math. This program is designed to address weaknesses the student may have in trying to learn English. Location: Economedes HS June 4-July 12
PSAT /SAT Academy
The PSAT/SAT Academy is designed to develop critical reading, writing, and mathematics skills in preparation for the PSAT /SAT college entrance exam. This program will be offered free of charge to targeted 10th grade students. Location: Economedes HS June 4-July 5
Accelerated Chemistry Academy at Economedes (Prerequisite: Algebra I + Biology + Biology EOC Masters Level)
The Accelerated Chemistry Academy is designed to allow advanced students who wish to take an intense and accelerated chemistry class to enroll in Pre-AP Physics their sophomore year, allowing students to take more AP Science classes during their junior and senior years. This course will be offered to students who have completed their freshman year at JEHS and are transitioning to 10th grade. Students will be awarded one high school science credit after completion of this course. Location: Economedes HS June 4-July 12
In Robotics I, students will transfer skills to components designs in project-based environment through implementation of the design process. Students will build prototypes or use simulation software to test their designs. Additionally, students will explore career opportunities, employer expectations, and educational needs in the robotic and automation industry. Location: Economedes HS June 4-July 12
Credit Recovery — Edgenuity Due to Absences
This program is designed to primarily address the needs of students who are seeking to regain credit lost solely due to lack of attendance. Classes are designed to address the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and are offered using the Edgenuity courses. Location: Economedes HS June 4-July 12
Accelerated Geometry Academy at Economedes (Prerequisite: Algebra I + EOC Masters Level)
The Accelerated Geometry Academy course is being offered to incoming 9th grade students and upcoming 10th grade students who wish to take an intense and accelerated geometry class. The purpose of this class is to give students an opportunity to learn advanced mathematics skills and concepts that will enhance participants’ opportunities to enroll and successfully complete advanced academic studies such as Dual Credit, Pre-Calculus , AP Calculus and/or AP Statistics during Junior and Senior years. Geometry credit will be awarded upon completion of course. Location: Economedes HS June 4-July 12
Math Ind. Studies/Engineering
This course will be offered to students who have obtained Algebra I and Geometry credit at the 8th grade level. This program is a great opportunity for students to work independently and in cooperative groups both in and outside the classroom. Upon successful completion of the course, a full credit of Math Independent Studies with emphasis on the engineering path will be awarded. Location: Economedes HS June 4-July 12
The TSI Academy will allow students to review, prepare and challenge the TSI exam. Passing standards of the TSI exams are required to enroll in college courses. Students will have the opportunity to take the TSI test on the final 2 days of the program. Location: Economedes HS June 17-June 28
Academic Summer School at J. Economedes High School
ECISD offers students who have passed their EOC exams the opportunity to participate in the Academic Summer School program in a variety of academic courses. Students can choose to participate in order to recover credits or for advancement. Students can earn up to 1 full credit.

End Of Course Academies
JEHS will offer EOC Academies for students who did not pass the English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, and/or U.S. History EOC assessments during the school year. Students that pass the class with a 70 and meet attendance requirements will be allowed to regain credit lost due to attendance. Parents will be notified if students have failed and are being recommended to take during summer school. Also, students in 8th Grade who did not pass their EOC exams can participate.
